Overview

The Assistant Director of Program Services provides leadership and operational oversight for both the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) and Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The Assistant Director ensures both residential and crisis stabilization programs deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based services that promote safety, healing, and positive outcomes for youth and families.

This position offers a $5,000 sign on bonus.

About Senecas Crisis Programs (CSU/COMPASS)

Senecas Monterey County Crisis Programs provide crisis stabilization services and short-term residential treatment for children and youth experiencing crises, ensuring timely support when its most needed. The team assesses the needs and strengths of each youth to develop foundation goals for treatment. Comprehensive services include mental health assessments, crisis counseling, and links to long-term support. The ultimate goal is to provide mental health/crisis services, suicide prevention, reduce placement changes, and minimize unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization.

Responsibilities


  • Serve as the designated Facility Manager for the STRTP and CSU, maintaining compliance with all CDSS Licensing and DHCS certification requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and service delivery across both programs to ensure safety, engagement, and treatment quality.
  • Ensure adherence to Welfare & Institutions Code, Title 9 CCR crisis stabilization standards, and Title 22 CCR STRTP regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Program Supervisors and support staff to maintain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, coverage, and training to ensure 24-hour program support and appropriate supervision ratios.
  • Coordinate preparation for licensing visits, audits, and program reviews.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation of program and support staff.
  • Model trauma-informed leadership, emotional regulation, and collaborative communication.
  • Promote a culture of direct communication, transparency, and accountability.
  • Provide mentorship and support to supervisors and leads, fostering professional growth and team cohesion.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary leadership meetings and contribute to policy and protocol development.


Qualifications
  • Eligible to serve as an STRTP Administrator per CDSS Title 22, CCR 87064.2, and meet required educational and experience criteria.
  • Eligible to serve as Facility Manager for both STRTP and CSU programs under CDSS and DHCS operational standards.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in social work, psychology, behavioral science, or a related field meeting Administrator eligibility requirements.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time experience in residential treatment, crisis stabilization, or child welfare, including supervisory or administrative duties.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid drivers license, a clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.

Benefits

Salary: $100,422 - $114,422 per year (dependent on creditable experience over minimum qualifications). Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam. $5,000 sign-on bonus.
